Vision & Mission
AGS VISION: To see the body of Christ engage in wholistic discipling of the Philippines, other nations in Asia, and beyond, so that there is an increasing Christ-like Presence, Economic Sufficiency, Public
Justice, Social Peace, National Righteousness, and Hope in the name of Jesus Christ.
AGS MISSION: To establish a globally prophetic, academically competent, and contextually responsive graduate school called to train leaders of Christian churches and service organizations, non-governmental organizations, emerging movements, and other institutions of society to achieve the vision.
AGS Roles in Asian Church and Beyond
AGS plays a strategic role in serving and equipping the Philippine church and beyond to participate in God’s Great Commission. Our international and interdenominational student body enables their churches and organizations to fulfill their missionary task. Our students come from the Resident programs and the Innovative programs. There are more than 8 million Filipinos working abroad. AGS provides the pastoral and theological training of lay leaders in Southeast Asia including Hongkong. We also provide higher education for Filipino leaders who are serving the diaspora Filipinos across Europe. The higher education for intercultural studies is designed to prepare teachers who should be able to teach abroad in a private educational institution or a government-recognized school and university. Our programs that focus on the market place ministry are Counseling, Community Development, and Religious Education in Values formation. The Distance and Extension Learning Program through the Master of Christian Studies caters to strategic leaders who may not have the luxury of time to come for a residency training. While AGS continues to respond to the need of education in the off-campus, the commitment to train scholars and thinkers in the in-campus is a non-negotiable mandate. The graduate school is committed to scholarship, transformation, innovation, and discipleship.
